Mr.
Rene Quinones
Mr.
Quinones (Mr. Q) is recognized as a 5th degree black belt
with the the International TaeKwonDo Federation (ITF), the
United States International TaeKwonDo Federation (US-ITF)
and the United States TaeKwonDo Federation (USTF). Mr. Q
has completed special training with the founder of TaeKwonDo,
General Choi Hong Hi, 9th Degree and Grand Master, to become
a certified ITF International instructor, and a certified
USTF Instructor, as well as a certified class "B"
referee.
Mr.
Q began his TaeKwonDo training on September 9, 1985 under
Mr. Don Partch at Midway Baptist Church. The school's name
was Midway Baptist Karate Club, Karate for Christ. Mr. Partch
is a 6th Degree Black Belt and Certified International Instructor.
He is also only one of a couple of Self Defense Instructors
recognized by the USTF.
Mr.
Q has attended numerous seminars, tournaments, and demonstrations
throughout the United States. Some of his career highlights
have been: training with General Choi Hong Hi, the founder
of TaeKwonDo; trained with and tested by Grand Master C.
E. Sereff, 9th Degree and President of the USTF; trained
with and tested by Master Robert Wheatley, 8th Degree
and President of the US-ITF; trained
with and tested by Master Gordon Jue, 7th Degree
and Vice President of the US-ITF; trained with Master George
Dillman a 9th degree black belt in Ryukyu Kempo Tomari-te,
(world renown Master in Pressure Points); Master Babbo in the art of Filipino Stick Fighting; Master
Mike Winegar, 8th Dan and USTF Director of Technique and
Head Instructor of the USTF Instructors Course, and he has competed and officiated
in numerous USTF state and regional championships.
Mr.
Q has been training in the art of TaeKwonDo for almost 25
years and has been teaching TaeKwonDo for twenty three of those
years. In August of 2004 Mr. Q was selected as a recipient
and Inductee in the '2004' Martial Arts Hall of Fame and in 2008 was inducted into the Masters Hall of Fame for "Life Time Achievement".
